Add/Edit Parent Attributes - Templates

This is the add/edit parent attribute category page. For the record, the name parent attribute category or parent attributes are corp-wide settings and may be changed to suite your needs. The page is divided into four main sections. The top deals with the category, what to call it, what part/item categories it spans, colors, icons, sort, and status. The status field is very important and controls the show/hide values of this parent attribute.
The other three sections are where you get to setup your actual attributes and their defaults. There is a section for text entries and pre-built drop-down menus. Another section for numeric or toggle on/off switches. The last section is for date/time entries and parent attributes. That section, for the dates and times, is currently not available. Within each of the lower sections there will be a number of entries or fields. If you run out of fields and you need more entries, submit the page and then come back to this same page. There will always be 3 new options beyond what you have already saved. Repeat as often as needed. Most of the fields should be fairly self explanatory. Start at the left and fill in the form. The name is what to call it. Then choose a type from the drop-down. This is how the parent attribute know how to act and what to do. Next is the default value or preset list. Enter a default if known. If you are building a list, use the "|" (pipe symbol - above the enter key) to separate the lists. For example: use|the|pipe|to|separate|the|list or 1|2|3|4|5|6|7|8|9|10. If you are setting up a numeric toggle switch, a numeric 1 (one) is for on, and a numeric 0 (zero) is for off. Some of the fields have sub selections or builder pages (helpers). Please use the correct builder pages if needed. For the icons, just copy and paste the icon name into the field. The status field is very important. If you want to use the parent attribute, make sure that the status is set to active/use/show. If not, even if data was previously submitted, the parent attribute will not be seen or you won't be able to use it. For more information on parent attributes, please see this help file. |
